New Year Yoga Retreat

A Yoga Retreat to help bring you into 2019 with a positive and mindful attitude, providingÂ an opportunity to practice yoga, reflect on the past and look forward to the future with a sense of mindfulness. Â All levels of practitioner are welcome.

The retreat will focus on the Ashtanga Yoga system and mindfulness practice.Â
The retreat will incorporate the Primary Series of the Ashtanga Yoga Vinyasa system - this will be explained along with modifications (for beginners or if you have injuries) as well as techniques such as â€˜jump backsâ€™ (for the more advanced practitioner). Â An understanding of energetics, the energy locks (bhandhas), breath awareness and sanskrit names of the postures, yoga philosophy will be explored in order to enhance your practice and welcome the New Year mindfully!
There will also be special celebrations on New Year's Eve, led by the monks and nuns, that participants on the course will be welcome to attend.Â
Should any participants feel inspired by the retreat to deepen their yoga practice further, Linda will lead a 4-weekend yoga course in 2019 at Samye Ling.
No previous knowledge is required, the retreat is suitable for all from absolute beginner to the more experienced yoga practitioner. Please bring a yoga mat.ÂTariff and Charges Guest Info
