We live in a very challenging age of widespread insecurity. Many of us are searching for a kind of guidance that Buddhism can reveal. Buddhism has what we need. It has been helping people for over two and a half millennia. Through the practise of wisdom and compassion we can come to realise our own inner wealth and potential. It could be especially relevant to those who wish to take refuge.
This course will be over two weekends. The first will outline the basics of Buddhism, especially in terms of core principles: refuge, bodhicitta (Awakening our potential), Buddha nature, the four noble truths, and the noble eightfold path. There will be some meditation practises shared to go along with these topics.
Part 2 will be on 27 - 29 March 2020.
There is no fee for this course although donations are welcome. Your offering will help with the Monastery's considerable running costs, as well as the expenses incurred in inviting teachers. Donations may be made in the Reception Office.
