This is the second of two weekends which serve as a brief introduction to Buddhism. This part will investigate the six paramitas and how they can help us find freedom from unnecessary suffering. They are especially valuable in the context of everyday life. In this second weekend there will be a brief introduction to the basics of tantra and the benefits of deity visualisation. All are welcome. The program will be experience based and not just the relay of information. We will also briefly look at the relationship between religion and spirituality in the context of taking refuge. Each weekend can be attended as a “stand-alone” course although it would be useful to attend both.
Part 1 is on 24-26 January 2020.
There is no fee for this course although donations are welcome. Your offering will help with the Monastery's considerable running costs, as well as the expenses incurred in inviting teachers. Donations may be made in the Reception Office.
