Lama Yeshe Rinpoche will offer teachings in his straightforward and heartfelt style on how to create the inner conditions for gratitude and joy. He will draw from his huge wealth of personal experience, and how he has managed to bring joy and meaning into his own life through the practice of meditation.

Lama Rinpoche will give instructions on how to meditate in a simple and effective way. He will stress the importance of motivation and cultivating appreciation for everything and everyone in our lives.

Since Lama Rinpoche’s specialty is meditation, he will be leading the 8 – 9am silent sitting meditation in the temple each day along with a teaching session in the morning and a question and answer session in the late afternoon.

On Easter Sunday, Lama Rinpoche will conduct a Refuge Ceremony for anyone who wishes to formally enter the Buddhist path. Some explanation about the meaning of Refuge and the format of the ceremony will be given on Sunday morning. Please inform Reception if you are planning on taking refuge.  For more information please click here.

Clive Holmes will be sharing teachings on “The Four Immeasurable Qualities”.  These are: kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity. These teachings will complement those given by Lama Rinpoche.

The Buddha is said to have taught that it is better to live a life devoted to the Four Immeasurable Qualities than to live in a luxurious palace.  They lie at the heart of a joyful, wise and enlightened attitude to life.

Clive will explain how each of these immeasurable qualities work together to achieve this way of being. Going back to the roots of the meaning of each of these contemplations, he will show how it is so valuable even to aspire to bring them into our everyday experience. Some exercises from the book, “Restoring the Balance” will be used in this context.

There is no fee for this course although donations are welcome. Your offering will help with the Monastery's considerable running costs, as well as the expenses incurred in inviting teachers.  Donations may be made in the Reception Office.
