Samye Ling Visual Guide

Information about the various parts of Samye Ling

Rare as a daytime star is this precious human birth.

Donations

Originally initiated by His Holiness the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa in the 1970s we are in the final phase of our building project.

Thanks to your donations the building is now wind and watertight!
NOW WE NEED TO RAISE £1 MILLION TO COMPLETE THE WORK ON THE INTERIOR!

By sponsoring an item ~ from as small as a building block costing only £10, to becoming a founder of the Samye College for £1,000 ~ you will help keep the project going. Whatever you decide to sponsor, it can be dedicated to anyone you choose - and it will become part of the final phase of the Samye Project, destined to house lecture theatres, multi-faith library, audio-video department, offices and accommodation.

The names of all sponsors as well as the person they dedicate their offering to will be entered in a grand register of names which will be kept in the new library once the building is complete.

Samye College Founders will receive a certificate, signed by Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche and Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche, and have their donation recognised on a commemorative plaque in the entrance to the new college.

You can sponsor:

  • A building block for £10
  • A square foot for £66
  • A small window for £300 - These are single paned, double glazed and decorated with ornamental Tibetan Style Lintels
  • A medium window for £450 - These have two panes, are double glazed and decorated with ornamental Tibetan Style Lintels
  • A large window for £600 - These have three panes, are double glazed and are decorated with ornamental Tibetan Style Lintels

In June 2011, Alex Loveland raised over £350 for the Samye Project by running from Samye Ling to Lockerbie. If you would like to follow in his footsteps and organise a similar fundraising event to raise money then you can contact samyecollege@samyeling.org and receive a fundraising pack that will give you all you need to get started.

If you wish to volunteer - with skills, labour, equipment or advice - please contact George Briggs at admin@samyeling.org or by phone at 0044 (0)13873 73232 ext 229.
