	<title>Lama Thubten Kunsal</title>
	<link>http://www.samyeling.org/index/guide-app/story.20/title.lama-thubten-kunsal</link>
<description>Lama Thubten Kunsal has come all the way from Tibet from his Monastery, Tashi Gonsar Gong monastery in Dege, East Tibet. He has trained from the age of fifteen with the most famous monastic artists in Tibet, first at Palpung Monastery where he learned drawing and painting, then the art of sculpture at his monastery in Dege, studying altogether for 20 years. He has completed the most beautiful statues of Amitabha, Vajrapani and Chenrezig, all 3 statues are more than life size for the Stupa shrine. He has also completed a magnificent statue of Guru Rinpoche seated on a lotus in the middle of the fountain of blessings outside the Stupa. It is almost unbelievable to see the effortless speed and accuracy of his work. Lama Thubten also sculptured the Nagarjuna statue in the pond and has completed statues of 1000 armed Chenrezig, Guru Rinpoche and the Karmapa which are situtated in the future Chenrezig shrine room. His most recent project which has recently come to completion is a wonderful 5 metre high Green Tara statue which has been built in the new herbal medicine garden.
