Samye College building update
Jul/03 - A plea from our Samye Ling Gardener..
Our ride-on lawnmower, which is essential for maintaining the grounds at Samye Ling, is coming to the end of its life. I would be eternally grateful if any of you would be willing to offer us a second hand mower or donate some money towards one, so we can continue to keep the grounds looking good. If you think you would be able to help then please email me at
clare_cs@yahoo.co.uk or leave a message at Samye Ling.
Many thanks,
Clare Carr-Saunders
Jun/28 - Samye College Founders
Dear Friend of Samye Ling

Those of you who have been coming to Samye Ling on a regular basis for some years will have witnessed the progress of Samye Project. Since 2008 we have been working on the final part of the Project: Samye College. Thanks to your help and through borrowing as much as money we possibly can, we have funded the work so far - and I want to thank you all for your generosity and support. Without your donations we would not have made such wonderful progress.
Now we have run out of money!
We are determined to make the whole building watertight before winter comes and our builders estimate this will cost around £400,000. To help achieve this, we offer you the opportunity to become a Founding Member of Samye College by giving £1,000 or more to the building fund. Donations may be in the name of the individual or dedicated to someone else.
Each Founding Member will receive a beautiful certificate, signed and sealed by Akong Tulku Rinpoche and myself. And their name will be carved on a permanent plaque displayed in the main entrance to Samye College. I hope and pray that every one of you receiving this will become a Founding Member. If you don't have resources perhaps you have a friend or relative who will help. Whatever you can do for this project will be very much appreciated.
We have no wish to offend anyone so if you are able to help we accept gratefully and thank you from the bottom of our hearts; if not, please don't feel badly or take this request in the wrong way.
With every best wish,
Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche
Abbot of Kagyu Samye Ling

Jun/16 - Limitless Compassion: A Way of Life by Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche
In April of this year, on the occasion of Choje Akong Tulku's 70th birthday, Kagyu Samye Dzong London offered a new book "Limitless Compassion: A Way of Life".
The teachings in this book are taken from a collection of talks given by Akong Tulku Rinpoche in London since the opening of Kagyu Samye Dzong London in 1998.
"Limitless Compassion" is the perfect guide to help us apply the buddhist teachings in everyday life. Akong Tulku Rinpoches' teachings cover the importance of mindfulness, meditation and compassion in order for us to live happy, fulfilling lives. He also explains the meaning of transmission and lineage as well as the power of sacred sites and termas, the hidden texts of Guru Rinpoche.
