Set among the rolling hills of the Esk Valley and a short walk from the main Samye Ling centre, Purelands is a purpose-built retreat centre that provides the ideal conditions for meditation and retreat in a tranquil environment. Purelands offers a range of 8-day retreats throughout the year. These retreats offer anybody the perfect opportunity to practice away from the distractions and demands of daily life.
All retreat leaders are experienced teachers who regularly lead meditation courses and retreats at Samye Ling and associated centres around the world and who have received teachings and instructions from the most eminent teachers of the Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
The fee for an all-inclusive 8-day retreat is £370. Unless otherwise stated, each retreat starts on Saturday evening with supper at 6pm, followed by an introductory talk at 7.30pm, and finishes the following Sunday after lunch.
Accommodation consists of single rooms with all bedding and hand-towels provided. Excellent wholefood vegetarian meals are provided but we are sorry we are not able to cater for special diets. Please bring house slippers, thick socks or equivalent - to ensure your comfort - as no outside shoes should be worn inside the retreat building.
