This Qigong syllabus has been designed by Bob Lowey B Sc., Founder and Principal Tutor of the 7 Stars School of Taijiquan established 1985 under the Auspices of Kagyu Samye Ling Founded 1967.

The course contains a list of Qigong subjects, which will be taught in order to meet required criteria to provide the participant with the necessary knowledge and skills to teach the subject matter competently.

Over these six sessions (Friday evening - Sunday 5pm approx, March, June & November), the training of subjects necessary for Qigong competency will be contained in a programme ensuring that no lessons will be shorter than 45 minutes duration through out the 100 contact hours of the course. Further information will be disseminated on line via the QigongTauk (Qigong Teachers Association UK) web site where you shall also be provided with on line tests.

This syllabus for each session will be provided and will contain the nature of each subject, the number of training hours for each subject and a lesson plan for each subject that will be taught and demonstrated by the Teacher. Certain lessons will contain practical work that may involve learning with another participant on the Course. The Course Teachers will honour anyone that does not wish to work with another participant.

The syllabus is balanced between theoretical and practical instruction with time allocated for revision of study and examination.

Examination of candidates will be at the end of the 3rd session and final examination on the 6th session in which the candidate will demonstrate their competence and proficiency in theoretical and practical Qigong.

Please remember to bring with you:
Pens, pencils, writing pads, and loose fitting warm clothing.

1 - 3 November.

This course will begin at 7pm on Friday the 23rd and end at 4.30pm on the Sunday.

By the end of this first weekend, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the basic origins of Qigong
  • Recognise some of the names associated to the different types of Qigong
  • Be aware how Qigong practice can affect the body
  • Adopt basic postures utilised in Qigong Styles
  • Be aware of human postures and how to rectify poor posture
  • Acknowledge some of the spiritual centres in the body directly related to the flow of Qi.
  • Identify "weak and harmful" Taiji & Qigong postures
  • Be aware how to rectify poor posture
  • Acknowledge the impact poor postures have on the body over time.
