Approaching Mahamudra

Category: Buddhism

Dates: October 5, 2012 - October 7, 2012

Venue: Samye Ling

Course Leader: Harry Milward

Price: £63

Mahamudra is one of the highest teachings of the Karma Kagyu Lineage. To be able to practice it properly clearly needs a good practical knowledge of the basic practices and overall view of Vajrayana teachings. Harry will explain in general what is needed to provide a firm foundation for successful practice.

As a long term Mahamudra student of Tai Situpa, Harry will use his decades of experience to guide this weekend of explanations and meditations based on the preliminary practices of Mahamudra. Sessions will also feature Shinay meditation and allocate time for questions and answers.

This course is intended for those who have already taken Refuge and are dedicated to diligent practice so it is not suitable for beginners.

Harry Milward is Samye Ling's most senior meditator. Now in his nineties, Harry is a dedicated practitioner and an inspiring example of the benefits of meditation. He is very much appreciated for his joyous approach to life as well as his ability to share his understanding of meditation practice with others.
