An opportunity for those who have attended Torey's week-long retreat and want to refresh their practice, and those with some meditation experience who wish to strengthen or refine their skills to join best-selling author Torey Hayden for two days of meditation practice.
An enthusiastic meditator but with an appreciation of the challenges it can present for Westerners, through the practice of meditation, Torey will provide guidance on refining focused awareness, dealing with distractions and obstacles to meditation, using physical pain, difficult emotions and destructive thoughts as support for meditation, and cultivating compassion.
This is a practice weekend, so the focus will be on meditation itself and will therefore include approximately six hours dedicated to sitting meditation. It will have a Western, non-religious orientation, and will be suitable for both Buddhists and non-Buddhists.
