How to Discover Peace in A Busy World

Category: Buddhism

Dates: November 9, 2012 - November 11, 2012

Venue: Samye Ling

Course Leader: Clive Holmes

Price: £63

As today's world gets busier and more hectic just how is it possible to find the time to slow down and discover peace in a meaningful way?

More often than not we find that we avoid our 'busy-ness' with too much TV, addiction, overwork and daydreaming, never really facing the reality of our lives.

Over the course of this weekend we will investigate how to make friends with these aspects of ourselves and discover the need to face all of life's challenges without retreating into the comfort of "reality avoiding" behaviour.

Instruction will be based around 3 simple and straightforward exercises - the "three minute breathing space", used by thousands across the world; simple kindness exercises and a four-stage meditation session based on slowing down, calming down, resting and healing - that can be practised by anyone, no matter how much time they have.
