Yoga - The Practice of Moving into Stillness

Category: Yoga

Dates: November 16, 2012 - November 18, 2012

Venue: Samye Ling

Course Leader: Hanna Casement

Price: £63

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali outline the 8 limbs of yoga as a path that moves us ever closer towards a point of stillness in preparation for meditation.

This workshop takes us on a deeper journey into our Yoga practice so that we can use it more as a way of focussing the mind and preparing the body for meditation, as well as using the postures as a form of moving
meditation.

Working with asana (postures), breathwork, sound, relaxation and also looking at some of the Yoga philosophy, we will explore moving towards that point of stillness that is the essence of Yoga as outlined in the ancient
texts.

This weekend aims to provide some foundation for us to develop more awareness in ourselves to develop a more rounded understanding of the path of Yoga, and to develop a more meditative approach when we practice our
Yoga.

Due to the inward looking nature of this way of working in Yoga, it is recommended that you have an established Yoga practice for this course.

Please bring your own yoga mats and any other equipment you may have.
