Reducing Stress Through Wisdom and Compassion

Category: Buddhism

Dates: October 4, 2013 - October 6, 2013

Venue: Samye Ling

Course Leader: Clive Holmes

Price: £63

The approach this weekend will be based on there being two kinds of suffering - one is the primary suffering that is inevitable and the other secondary one that is our reactive mind that can make everything much worse. Pain x resistance = suffering or stress.

Our most valuable ally in dealing with stress is compassion. Tibetan culture offers a wealth of relaxation and visualisation methods to help us deal with stress and be at ease with everything that arises in our lives. We have wisdom and compassion already but we need to learn compassion and self-compassion methods in order to access our basic humanity.

This weekend will also be an opportunity to give ourselves much needed space and time to heal and relax in the environment of Samye Ling.
