Ngondro Practice Instructions

Part of the preparation teachings for people entering the upcoming 4 year retreat, this is a wonderful opportunity for anyone with a strong wish to practice and teach the Four Foundations to receive a full explanation from the best of teachers. Samye Dzong centres are encouraged to send at least one representative, who should have completed the Ngondro or have the intention to do so and who will be able to teach to other centre members.
Important Note:
All participants in the Ngondro Course must make a commitment to practice Ngondro as follows:
- If you have not yet done Ngondro you must make the commitment to complete the practice (i.e. 111,111 of each of the four parts).
- If you have already completed Ngondro one time you must commit to do 10,000 of each of the four parts.
- If you have completed Ngondro twice or more then you must commit to do 1,000 of each.
The conditions for attendance at this course will be very strict and that is not negotiable: anyone participating must attend every session. There will be no exceptions made for regular medical appointments, trips to town, work that must be done and so forth. Of course, if someone falls ill during the course, they will be excused from the sessions during the time of their illness. But other than that, there must be 100% attendance. Drupon Rinpoche says that if he sees that someone has missed a session, he will refuse to teach them afterwards, during that course. The only other exception will be if Akong Tulku Rinpoche or Lama Yeshe Rinpoche specifically asks as they are in charge of Samye Ling. This rule of attendance will apply to the Ngondro Practice Instructions course as well as to the Creation Stage teachings.
There will be no course fee for this teaching although normal accomodation rates will apply.
