Akong - A Remarkable Life

image003Dear Friends

We are really happy to be able to let you know that thanks to the generosity of many of Rinpoche’s students and friends, “Akong – A Remarkable Life” is progressing really well.

Chico has spent countless hours completing the final version of the film – this has truly been a labour of love and devotion by Chico and the whole team involved in making this incredible achievement possible.

We have applied to Film Festivals all over the world and we are hopeful that we will have some good news to share.  If the film does gain recognition at Film Festivals then it will of course multiply the impact of what we have all helped to achieve; bringing opportunities for more and more people to be inspired by Rinpoche’s life story.  Of course this will also increase the potential to raise the funds needed by the Rokpa Trust’s  “Akong Memorial Foundation” to look after the 3rd Akong Tulku.

Film Festivals naturally wish to host films that have not yet been released so it is important to wait until the New Year before we can arrange the special event screenings that will be hosted by friends of Rinpoche all over the world.

We really appreciate the support and patience shown by Lama Yeshe Rinpoche and everyone who has been involved with this wonderful project and look forward to making the film available so that Rinpoche’s activity can be celebrated and his message of Compassion in Action can be heard.
