Course and Accommodation Bookings

Please take a moment to read the contents of this page.

You may book to stay with or without attending a course, be aware course times will be busy and have less availability.

If an accommodation type does not show on the system then that type is not available for the given date and number of nights stay.


If booking a course remember to select the course in the Extras otherwise you are not booked on the course.

If you are not staying overnight in Samye Ling accommodation but wish to attend a course please use the booking system and select the Not Staying accommodation type to book the course and your meals.

We do not operate waiting lists for courses, the booking system is live, as cancellations occur the course will be open to book online.


Full payment is due on arrival either by cash or any of the following cards; Visa Debit/Credit/Delta, Maestro/Switch, Mastercard Credit/Debit - no charges.

We do not take online payments, if you receive any communication purporting to have come from us which asks for payment for a booking please ignore it.

Checking In/Out

Check in time is from 1.30pm. on the day of arrival.

If you wish to arrive early and take lunch with us please let us know in advance by sending an email to, the rooms cannot be accessed until after 1.30pm.

Checking out rooms must be empty ready to clean and keys returned by 11am. on the day of departure.

Late Arrivals

To help you find your room when you arrive, a note will be left on the reception door with your room location and number. If your room has a lock the door will be left unlocked. Apologies, but for security reasons we cannot leave your room key out.

If you lock yourself out by accident please contact Ian in room 1 in the Monks Cabin (behind the Tea Rooms).

Please check in, settle your room bill and collect your key from reception in the morning.

Please note that the last meal is served at 6pm, so you may want to stop en route for something to eat.


The accommodation prices include all meals. The first meal is soup on the day of arrival, the last meal is lunch on the day of departure. Meals cannot be swapped round or bartered, if you wish to take lunch on the day of arrival please book in advance and there will be a charge for extra meals.

Please be aware we offer vegetarian food and use eggs and dairy products, we regret we can not cater for special diets.

Camping & Camper Vans

You are welcome to book a tent or camper van space and bring your own tent or camper van to Samye Ling but please be aware that we have no dedicated facilities for this type of accommodation.

We regret that we are unable to accommodate children and pets overnight.
