Course summary:

This intensive Yoga and Mindfulness course will run over 4 weekends. You will learn the fundamental elements of Ashtanga yoga, the philosophy that underpins the practice and the experience the benefits of adopting a mindfulness approach than encompasses peace and harmony.

This series of workshops will provide you with the tools necessary to practice independently or enhance your current yoga practice. It will examine the traditional aspects of Ashtanga Yoga providing you with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of this ancient yoga system.

The comprehensive course will include:

·         Yoga postures –the primary series of ashtanga yoga- variations for all abilities will be offered 

·         Techniques – cleansing, kinetics, vinyasa system 

·         Energetics – Energy locks (bhandhas), breath awareness, sanskrit & chanting

·         Philosophy – yoga philosophy, yoga sutras, mindfulness and meditation

Each workshop will focus on a specific aspect of yoga in order to widen your knowledge. The adherence to a Mindfulness approach will be incorporated into the teachings to enable you to practice yoga with a sense of kindness, compassion and wisdom.

By the end of this informative course you will be able to confidently, competently and independently practice the primary series of Ashtanga Yoga, with variations as appropriate. More experienced yoga practitioners will have the opportunity to deepen into their practice, utilize their pre-existing knowledge in order to progress into the more subtle aspects of this spiritual practice.

Pre-requisites for enrolment
No previous knowledge required. The course is suitable for absolute beginner to the more experienced yoga practitioner.
