Meditation Practice Retreat October 2019

31 Aug 2019

DR with ATR Sept 2013

From 6th to 13th October, 2019, Drupon Rinpoche will lead his annual Meditation Retreat over the time of the 6th anniversary of our much-missed Founder, Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche.

During this retreat and for the first time in Samye Ling, Drupon Rinpoche will use the unique traditional teaching method used by the great Masters of the past.

Traditionally this method is used on a one-to-one basis.  But to allow as many people as possible to benefit from the opportunity, Drupon Rinpoche will adapt the method for the group situation.  Although this may not be as effective as a simple master-student transmission, still we feel there is potential for great benefit.  So we offer this unique chance to explore any obstacles, doubts and misunderstandings practitioners may have about meditation.

There will be no distinction between teaching and practice sessions, both will contain the same mixture of instruction, guidance and practice.

We have wanted to arrange a course like this for a long time and until now it has not been practical. Now we have this excellent opportunity for everyone who wants to learn meditation from a modern-day Master, who is both learned in Buddhist philosophy and also a very experienced meditator.

Anyone who is part of Samye Ling or any of the Samye Dzongs is particularly encouraged to attend.

We hope this retreat will be of benefit to everyone who participates.

For more information and to book a place on the retreat, please see our Course Programme.
