Cost: £150.00

Venue: Samye Ling

About the workshop…

To join this workshop, you must have completed Leadership Embodiment level 1 with me or with another accredited Leadership Embodiment teacher.

When we’re ‘bent out of shape’ by adverse events or unsettling experiences, we use Leadership Embodiment practices to assist us to respond more skilfully. Whether you’re a leader in your organisation, family or community or simply wish to enhance your self-leadership, this ‘level 2’ workshop will support you to gain deeper insight into your habits and patterns when under pressure and further develop your capacity for recovering centre.

In a level 2 workshop, we explore the edges of our capacity to centre and begin to work with greater intensity, such as using bokkens (Japanese wooden swords) in committing to our purpose, and dealing with multiple, rapid demands. We also work with short ‘sitting’ mindfulness practices and continue to refine our foundation centring practice.

Over the weekend you will you will become more aware of nuances in your reactive patterns, and clearer about the resources and inspirations that support you. After a ‘level 2’ workshop, an experienced facilitator and consultant said:

‘At the start of level 1, when Amanda said that people often repeat it, I remember thinking ‘why would you want to do that? Surely once is enough to get it’. Having done both the levels, now I get why you repeat it. Every time I've engaged with the practices, I've deepened my understanding of my patterns and their impact on how I interact with others.’

What to expect and what to bring…

As you know, we’ll be moving around and will be making gentle physical contact with each other on hands, arms and back. You should wear comfortable clothes and flat, comfortable indoor shoes or bare feet. Please also wear layers – we’ll be warm when moving around and cool off quite quickly when we’re sitting.

Our work will be mainly experiential, with brief opportunities to share learning after each activity. The workshop will begin at 7pm on Friday 27 October 2023 and end at 4pm on Sunday 29 October 2023

Mostly…just bring yourself and be ready to explore and have fun!

If you have any questions about whether you meet the requirements for this course, please email Amanda at info@originate.org.uk. Otherwise just book by email to bookings@samyeling.org.
