“Not to do harmful things, always to do the helpful, tame the mind –that is the essence of the teachings” Lord Buddha
Without intending harm, we can become our own worst enemies when we act, speak and think in a wild and reckless way. This weekend will be an investigation into taming the mind from the world of Buddhism. Often referred to as “Taming The Tiger”, or Taming The Monkey Mind, over the weekend we will explore this useful but very challenging task. It is essential not to just know meditation intellectually but embody the dharma-the teachings of lord Buddha too. There will be many opportunities to practise over the weekend and we will mention how some knowledge of evolutionary Psychology can help us too.
There is no fee for this course although donations are welcome. Your offering will help with the Monastery's considerable running costs, as well as the expenses incurred in inviting teachers. Donations may be made in the Reception Office.
