50th Anniversary Event

If you require accommodation at Samye Ling please click here to book.

This will take place in the Lecture Hall in Samye College.

We are delighted to host a narrated cinematic slideshow showing key moments in the construction of Samye Ling from the late 1960’s when Akong Rinpoche and Trungpa Rinpoche arrived at Johnstone House right through to the present day. This project was sanctioned by Akong Rinpoche and is the culmination of 5 years' scanning and organising of over 42,000 images by some of Rinpoche’s students.

After the event, the production team will invite written feedback from the attendees to correct any technical inaccuracies. Later in the year the presentation will be re-edited and made available for wide distribution.

All proceeds on the night and from subsequent DVD/media sales will go to the Akong Memorial Foundation.

There will be no set charge for entry, although donations to the Akong Memorial Foundation will be most welcome.
