The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali outline the 8 limbs of Yoga as a path that ultimately prepares and then refines the mind towards an increasing stillness in preparation for meditation.
This workshop takes us on a deeper journey into our yoga practice so that we can work with the intention of focusing the mind and to develop being more present and less distracted as we practice.
We will work with various aspects of yoga, and look at some of the philosophy behind it, so that we can explore moving closer towards that place of stillness as we work.
This weekend aims to help us to develop more awareness in ourselves as we practice our yoga and to help us to practice with more awareness of the potential for the stillness of mind. This will also help us to develop a more rounded understanding of the path of Yoga as a whole.
This course is physically suited to all levels, including beginners, but it is more challenging due to the inward focus of the mind as we work. If you are not used to focusing inwards in any form of meditation or mindfulness it may be more challenging for complete beginners. For this reason it is usually recommended that you are at least familiar with a basic regular yoga practice for this workshop, although it does not exclude beginners as long as you are aware of this.
Please bring your own mat if you prefer not to work on the floor or a blanket.
