Course and Accommodation Bookings

If you are using a device with a small screen (phone/tablet) please remember to scroll down on the Addtional Extras screen to see any courses that may be off screen.
You may book to stay with or without attending a course - though please be aware course times will be busy and have less availability.
You may book to attend a course, with meals, without booking accommodation, select the No Accommodation room type on the booking system after you have set your dates and number of nights.
If an accommodation type does not show on the system, it means that type is not available for the given date and number of nights you entered, in which case you might try entering alternative dates and number of nights or keep checking back to see if there have been any cancellations.
If you cannot find the accommodation you want you could try the local accommodation listed here and then make a booking for No Accommodation on the booking system to book your meals and any courses.
We do not operate waiting lists, it is a live booking system, please check back regularly to see if there has been a cancellation.

Booking for the current day closes at 1.30pm, after 1.30pm you may book for the next day onward only.

To Make A Booking
Please expand and read the terms and conditions sections below for details on bookings, especially if it is your first time.
To check availability of Accommodation and/or Course places please click the link below then, on the booking page, enter your arrival date number of nights that you wish to stay.
There maybe occasions when it might be necessary to change room allocations to enable as many people as possible to stay. Therefore we cannot guarantee to hold a specific room in your name. Thank you for your understanding.

We regret that we are unable to accommodate children or pets overnight, for local accommodation please click here.
When booking a twin room please put both names in the "Full guest name" box separated by a comma.

How to book a course
The screenshot below shows an example of the "Additional Extras" screen which will appear after you select your room type, only internal courses can be booked with us, external courses such as the Mindfulness courses are booked with the relevant party, see the full course page for details.

Remember you must select the course in "Additional Extras", otherwise you are not booked onto the course.Â To book a course, please enter the number of people attending in the box you will see to the right hand side of the course you want to book place(s) on.
If you are not staying overnight in Samye Ling but wish to attend a course please use this booking system and select the "No Accommodation" room type to book the course and your meals.
We regret we do not operate waiting lists for courses. However, as cancellations occur, the course will become available to book online please check back regularly.
When and how do I Pay?
Full payment is due on arrival either by cash or any of the following cards; Visa Debit/Credit/Delta, Maestro/Switch, Mastercard Credit/Debit - no charges.
We do not take online payments, if you receive any communication purporting to have come from us which asks for payment for a booking please ignore it.
Check in time is from 1.30pmÂ on the day of arrival, and rooms are not available until after 1.30pm.
If you wish to arrive early and take lunch with us please let us know at least 24 hours in advance by sending an email toÂ firstname.lastname@example.org.Â Lunch is served at 12.30pm.
Checking out: rooms must be empty for our cleaners and keys returned by 11amÂ on the day of departure.
What do I do if I am arriving after reception is closed?
If Reception is closed when you arrive, a note will be left on the Reception door with your room location and number. If your room has a lock the door, it will be left unlocked and you may collect the key from reception when you check in the following morning. For security reasons we cannot leave your room key out.
If you lock yourself out by accident please contact Ian in Room 1 in the Monks Cabin (behind the Tea Rooms).
Please check in, settle your room bill and collect your room key from Reception at 9am the next morning.
Please note that the evening meal is served at 6pm - 6.45pm, you may wish to stop en-route for something to eat if arriving after that time.
Which meals are included?
All accommodation prices include meals.
The first meal is the evening meal on the day of arrival.
The last meal is lunch on the day of departure.
If you wish to take lunch on the day of arrival you must book in advance and there will be a charge.
Please be aware we offer vegetarian food and use eggs and dairy products; we regret we can not cater for special diets.
Breakfast usually consists of fresh fruits, non-dairy porridge, cereals, toast and spreads. For lunch the main dish will vary but there are vegetables, rice and salad with a pudding which may be fresh fruit. The evening meal is soup, bread and spreads.
Camping & Camper Vans
You are welcome to book a tent or camper van space and then bring your own tent or camper van to Samye Ling but please be aware that we have no dedicated facilities for this type of accommodation.
The Five Golden Rules
To show respect for ourselves and others and to protect Samye Ling as a sacred space, Abbot, Choje Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche requests all who visit and stay here to follow these rules:
1. To protect life and refrain from killing.
2. To respect other's property and refrain from stealing.
3. To speak the truth and refrain from lying.
4. To embrace health and refrain from intoxicants.
5. To respect others and refrain from harmful sexual activity.
