Sunday 8th October 2023 - the 10th Anniversary since Akong Rinpoche passed away

The activities on this day will be dedicated to the memory of our Founder Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche.

Akong Rinpoche

Please meet in the Temple at 10.30am.  We will recite Akong Rinpoche’s Swift Return Prayer (the four-line prayer composed by H H Gyalwang Karmapa) and anyone who wishes may offer a kata (or flowers or whatever you wish) to Akong Rinpoche’s throne. 

At 11.00am Lama Rinpoche will give a talk in the temple followed by offering lights in the Butterlamp House and then lunch in the dining hall.

The Meditation Retreat begins at 2.30pm and everyone is welcome to join in the first two sessions.

For those who have time, it is excellent to participate in the Meditation Retreat.

For those who have less time, you are welcome to join for the first teaching session and/or the first practice session of the Meditation Retreat, so that all Akong Rinpoche’s students have the chance to honour his memory by spending this special day engaged in studying and practicing the Buddha’s teachings.
