Dr Brion Sweeney
Dr Brion Sweeney is a retired consultant psychiatrist who worked for over 30 years in the Health Service Executive in Dublin until his retirement in 2012. He holds a master's degree in psychotherapy from University College Dublin (1986).
Brion undertook his own experiential training in Tara Rokpa Therapy (TRT) under the guidance of Akong Rinpoche and become part of a core team of Western healthcare professionals who helped developed the method. Brion started working as a Tara Rokpa therapist in 1991 and thereafter worked closely with Akong Rinpoche and other TRT therapists helping to refine Tara Rokpa Therapy. Over the decades TRT has attracted participants from many European countries and in Southern Africa.
More recently Brion spent three years in retreat under the guidance of His Eminence Jamgon Tai Situpa Rinpoche.
