Kagyu Samye Ling Covid-19 Update
22 December 2020
Although everyone hoped that the Coronavirus pandemic would have subsided by now, sadly we are in the grip of another wave of infections.
In view of this situation, the trustees of Rokpa Trust have decided that for the safety of everyone, Samye Ling and Samye Dzong centres should remain closed until we can be certain it is safe to open again.
Now that vaccinations against the virus are becoming available, we will wait until all the residents of Samye Ling have been vaccinated. Only then can we be sure that everyone, especially residents who are elderly or vulnerable, will be safe and fully protected against the virus.
We will let you know when it becomes possible for Samye Ling to reopen safely.
Meantime we ask for your patience and understanding and wish that you all remain safe and well.
On behalf of the trustees
Abbot Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche and Deputy Abbot Lama Katen.
